— For mature students, entry will be based on interview / assessment.
— All Applicants are required to attend for an interview.

Course Description

This one-year full-time course provides students with a broad range of business, computing and secretarial skills to work in the modern business and financial sector. The course prepares students for both higher and education and for employment in the business sector. It is ideal for both school leavers and mature students who have a keen interest in business and IT. This course can also beneficial for those that wish to enter the workforce directly or as a progression route to further education through the Higher Education Links scheme.

Work Experience

Work Experience is an integral part of this course. Students must obtain work experience in a related area. The period of work experience will be specified by the college. This work placement provides students with first-hand experience of work in the business and financial sector.

Examinations and Assessment

All subjects are examined by Quality and Qualification Ireland (QQI).

Assessment is a combination of continuous assessment, written and practical examinations.

Career Options

Students obtaining certification in Business Studies may progress to further training at selected third level colleges under the Higher Education Links Scheme.
