The 3rd of September marked th20190903_132531e end of an era in Columba College as we said farewell to Ms Ring and Ms McElroy.

Both teachers have been an integral part of school life for many years. It has been our pleasure and honour to have shared this time with both teachers as staff, students and parents.

To mark this special occasion, staff celebrated by having a staff lunch to mark our last lunch together. We then had a whole school assembly during which our whole school community could celebrate the contributions Ms Ring and Ms McElroy have made to our school. Firstly Mr Brady reminisced on the past 30 plus years for both teachers. Then our fantastic students who arranged a presentation to both teachers, presented Ms Ring and Ms McElroy with a token to remember their time here in Columba College. Once the presentations were complete, a slideshow of both teachers best bits was shown.

Finally to end our celebration, in a touching tribute, Ms Ring and Ms McElroy left the school for the last time from the assembly hall to applause and cheers as students and staff lined the corridors of Columba College in a guard of honour. This guard of honour was a touching mark of respect to thank two teachers for their hard work, dedication, kindness and care over the course of their careers.

It has been our pleasure and honour to have shared this time with Ms Ring and Ms McElroy as pupils and staff both past and present. Both teachers have dedicated their careers to Columba College, and have certainly made their mark on us, pupils, staff, the local community and our whole school community.

Columba College will never be the same, it is the end of an era, but your contribution to our school over the years has made our school a better place.

We would like to wish Ms Ring and Ms McElroy all the best in their retirement.

You certainly will be missed.
