Introduction to CSPE

CSPE is a Junior Cycle course designed to promote Active Citizenship in young adults. The course features seven core concepts: human dignity, rights and responsibilities, stewardship, development, democracy, law and interdependence.

 

Aims of CSPE

The course aims to help young people to understand and engage with the world around them. It prepares students for the responsibilities of citizenship, at a local, national and international level. It teaches students about the rights and responsibilities of individuals and how democracy works, and helps them to see themselves as active participants in the political and social world, who can make a difference.
